Analogue to Digital Time

Analogue to Digital Time

Time puzzle worksheet (converting analogue time to 12 hour digital time) and answer key. This is a free sample from my fun, printable Hidden Word / Spot the Mistake Time puzzles pack. The full pack of 9 puzzles for various time concepts at Upper KS2 (Y5 / Y6) and Early KS3 revision is available here – ** Time Puzzle Worksheets** The full pack also contains puzzles for telling the time to five minutes and nearest minute (analogue), converting between 12 and 24 hour time, converting between units of time (seconds, hours, minutes) and 12 hour time durations. An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these no-prep puzzles make ideal starter, early finisher or homework activities. They can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. They are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after the Time work has been completed. Each puzzle contains a grid. Pupils circle any boxes containing errors, then put together the letters from these boxes to reveal the hidden word. Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves. A Mega Bundle of 12 of my hidden word puzzle packs for many maths and numeracy concepts (over 70 puzzle worksheets) is available for a huge saving, while the same puzzle packs are also available in some smaller bundles: Maths Hidden Word Puzzles MEGA BUNDLE Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 1 Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 2 Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 3 For engaging, time-saving printables and presentations to plan Primary Literacy, Maths and French lessons, visit FullShelf Resources

Circle theorem and algebra

Circle theorem and algebra

Few questions I wrote where students have to set up and solve equations, using their knowledge of circle theorems. Please note on the handwritten sheet, I made a mistake. One of the cyclic quadrilaterals and simultaneous equations does not work, the equations are parallel. I usually sell it as “I have made one deliberate mistake”

GCSE Maths Foundation Revision Sheets

GCSE Maths Foundation Revision Sheets

I produced these sheets for some final revision for my Foundation group. They have a range of targets from 1 to 4 so I wanted a mixture of stuff for them - a bit of recall, a bit of applying and a bit of “thinking” questions - the phrase “problem solving” can be a bit off putting for some of them. Let me know what you think.

2D shapes - naming and properties

2D shapes - naming and properties

Collection of worksheets for naming 2D shapes and looking at their sides and corners. Cut and stick versions allow those who are less fluent writers to engage with the task more independently. It can be a good idea to have an adult cut out the shape names/ number of sides en masse with a guillotine prior to the lesson, to allow children to focus on the shapes and their properties.

Clock Wall Display.

Clock Wall Display.

Some of my children struggle with “Time” so I made this break down, to display on the wall around the classroom wall clock. It made a difference straight away and the children really do benefit from seeing it everyday rather than just during lessons when the topic is ‘Time’. I have saved the resource on a powerpoint presentation and will be willing to e-mail it to anyone who would like it for their classrooms. All i ask for is a £1 donation to my just giving page, helping to raise money for a year 9 residential trip for our children at Wilson Stuart SEN School. Leave your e-mail address in the comments of the donation on my just giving page and i will send the powerpoint directly to your e-mail address. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tamara-matthews Thank you! I can read timetables and shipping maps (Desert island survival theme)

I can read timetables and shipping maps (Desert island survival theme)

This resource was prepared for a themed project at the end of a survival-themed learning journey. I wanted something different, maths but not the usual maths, that would continue to engage the children into that final week of term. Children imagine themselves shipwrecked on a desert island, and need to be able to read the shipping map and the timetable to know when a ship will come close enough to their island to be able to pick up their radio signal for help. This is quite different to a typical timetable reading lesson, and will need careful modelling for the pupils to experience success. ( The slides do this.) There is an alternative, more traditional timetable for LA pupils, but they may still need the help of an adult. Print the activities directly from the power point slides. (Slides 8 and 12) This lesson leads nicely to the second and this lessons of the project (create a look-out rota, and draw a map using coordinates in all 4 quadrants). https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/coordinates-in-four-quadrants-desert-island-map-11866571 If you do use this resource in class, I would be really interested to hear your feedback.

Year 4 Consolidation - White Rose Summer Week 12

Year 4 Consolidation - White Rose Summer Week 12

This pack of resources covers Year 4 consolidation for the 12th week of the Summer term. These assessment style questions, which follow an ‘I do, we do, you do’ structure, are designed to be used as consolidation questions for the White Rose Y4 units including: Decimals Money Time Statistics Properties of shape A suggested way to use this resource would be for the teacher to first model answering the question (I do). Then, the teacher guides the children answering the second question (we do). Finally, the children answer a question independently (you do). Overall, there are 40 different questions in this resource, with 3 variations of each question: giving a total of 120 questions. We hope you find these worksheets useful and save you time planning. We aim to produce resources which are of the highest quality - we strongly believe that the visual aspects of these worksheets enable deep understanding of the areas being taught. Once you have used these resources, we would love to hear what worked particularly well and what could be improved on: we often edit our resources. GCSE revision lessons

GCSE revision lessons

Here is a small group of revision lessons I have recently used for my year 11 students. These have been written with them in mind and cover the types of questions they were struggling with. Generally I tend to go through one or two at the board before they attempt the others. Revision lessons included are Probability tree diagrams Distance speed time Ingredient questions Flow diagrams and some general “wordy” questions that can be troubling for many students.
