Analogue to Digital Time

Analogue to Digital Time

Time puzzle worksheet (converting analogue time to 12 hour digital time) and answer key. This is a free sample from my fun, printable Hidden Word / Spot the Mistake Time puzzles pack. The full pack of 9 puzzles for various time concepts at Upper KS2 (Y5 / Y6) and Early KS3 revision is available here – ** Time Puzzle Worksheets** The full pack also contains puzzles for telling the time to five minutes and nearest minute (analogue), converting between 12 and 24 hour time, converting between units of time (seconds, hours, minutes) and 12 hour time durations. An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these no-prep puzzles make ideal starter, early finisher or homework activities. They can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. They are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after the Time work has been completed. Each puzzle contains a grid. Pupils circle any boxes containing errors, then put together the letters from these boxes to reveal the hidden word. Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves. A Mega Bundle of 12 of my hidden word puzzle packs for many maths and numeracy concepts (over 70 puzzle worksheets) is available for a huge saving, while the same puzzle packs are also available in some smaller bundles: Maths Hidden Word Puzzles MEGA BUNDLE Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 1 Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 2 Maths Hidden Word Puzzles BUNDLE 3 For engaging, time-saving printables and presentations to plan Primary Literacy, Maths and French lessons, visit FullShelf Resources

Clock Wall Display.

Clock Wall Display.

Some of my children struggle with “Time” so I made this break down, to display on the wall around the classroom wall clock. It made a difference straight away and the children really do benefit from seeing it everyday rather than just during lessons when the topic is ‘Time’. I have saved the resource on a powerpoint presentation and will be willing to e-mail it to anyone who would like it for their classrooms. All i ask for is a £1 donation to my just giving page, helping to raise money for a year 9 residential trip for our children at Wilson Stuart SEN School. Leave your e-mail address in the comments of the donation on my just giving page and i will send the powerpoint directly to your e-mail address. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tamara-matthews Thank you! GCSE revision lessons

GCSE revision lessons

Here is a small group of revision lessons I have recently used for my year 11 students. These have been written with them in mind and cover the types of questions they were struggling with. Generally I tend to go through one or two at the board before they attempt the others. Revision lessons included are Probability tree diagrams Distance speed time Ingredient questions Flow diagrams and some general “wordy” questions that can be troubling for many students.

Royal Wedding Maths Year 4

Royal Wedding Maths Year 4

I made these resources to revise some of the Year 4 curriculum before the children sit the optional SATs. The first sheets are work on statistics and money (I have used a graph from a sheet I got off the TES, so thank you to that person who put it up). The second file covers time. We used it as an assessment of the children’s skills. We told the children to complete the first 3 columns the first day and then the next day we told them that the Army only work in 24 hour clock, so we need to convert them. I hope you find it useful.

Time Tarsia Puzzle - Ideal for KS2

Time Tarsia Puzzle - Ideal for KS2

A tarsia puzzle for practice with telling time from an analogue clock. The challenges comprise “o’clock”, “half-past”, “quarter to/past” times, as well as times to the nearest 5 minutes and nearest minute. In addition, there are added challenges that test pupils’ knowledge of certain ‘time facts’ (e.g that there are 24 hours in a day and 12 months in a year) that are on the LKS2 curriculum but best taught through continuous provision rather than discrete lessons. Can be used in pairs or individually. Includes missing number problems to challenge pupils’ reasoning. As an extension, why not challenge pupils to create their own puzzle with similar calculation problems? **Note: This puzzle works best when enlarged to A3 **

KEY POINTS: I have provided full answers, with comments and working where helpful. I have maintained the style of the actual SATs questions so that students can become comfortable with the way that SATs questions are presented. Most of the questions are from actual SATs papers, but I have also added questions so that this resource matches the requirements the current curriculum better than the older resources that are still in common use (note that many of the older resources of this type contain questions on topics which are no longer examined). I have spent a lot of time arranging the questions so that there is a general increase in difficulty as students work through them, and so that they fit on the pages better – this means less wasted space and significant paper-saving when printing 😃 <hr>👍If you like this resource, then please rate it and/or leave a comment💬. WRM Year 2 Summer block 3 Time Planning and resources

WRM Year 2 Summer block 3 Time Planning and resources

This unit has been planned using the White Rose Maths Hub Small steps planning scheme. There are 6 days worth of lessons and resources. The lesson structure follows the let’s learn, let’s talk, let’s do, let’s use it structure. The flipchart helps to structure and teach the content of each lesson with lots of visual images, prompts and questions. The activities are differentiated and include greater depth challenges for each lesson. The worksheets have been created with our school cursive script. I have included these as a PDF if you wish to use as they are or I have also included them as a Word document if you wanted to change the font or adapt the sheets to suit your class. The flipchart has been created with AcitvInspire software. You should be able to import this into your own whiteboard software, or I believe that you can download a free viewer. If you are still having difficulty viewing this file, I have included it as a PDF. It is very detailed and comprehensive with 45 slides covering the 6 lessons.
