This is a trigonometry work/activity booklet intended to be used as a supplement to teaching. It includes a variety of exercises covering Pythagoras, Trig ratios, the Sine Rule and the Cosine Rule. This booklet can be used with GCSE students of any level as it includes questions aimed at different abilities. There are some very difficult problems (marked with asterisks *) which are best suited for the highest ability students or those who enjoy a challenge! It is also ideally suited to be used for GCSE trig revision. Please let me know if you spot any grammatical, spelling or mathematical errors!

This file could be as a material for the whole geometry lesson in secondary grades. There are eight real problems which could be solved with using triangles (mainly right-angled). The most difficult part is to make the appropriate drawing and choose right formulas for calculations. Activity is made in "step by step" way: if the first challenge - to make the drawing - is too big, there are hints for it, and only then the solution and answer. Cosine Rule

A worksheet which I use to teach The Cosine Rule. Before I give students this worksheet, I go through a couple of questions ‘on the board’ to cover the standard cases of finding the third side or finding a missing angle. The questions are laid out in a grid and increase in difficulty as students work across or downwards. The latter questions are as challenging as GCSE questions get and allow students to get involved in good, healthy mathematical discussion. There is no requirement that the students know The Sine Rule but if they do, they might choose to use it in a couple of the questions. Answers are included.

Teach in 20 3D Trigonometry

This started as a teaching prompt to prepare my year 10 set 2 for a end of year mock and it was based on topics we hadn't studied yet. I found I could teach them the content and go through an example and then get them try a question in about 20 minutes - that is 3 new topics in a 60 minute lesson. I printed the PowerPoints as handouts and got the students to work on them. You can of course use them as you see fit. Feedback would be much appreciated! Enjoy :)
