No Prep - Art in Math / Math in Art: Make Amazing Designs with Ruler & Pen

A 20-page resource which can be used to make thousands of different symmetrical designs, in black and white or colour. Students need only a ruler and a pencil or pen, to easily create intricate designs such as concentric circles, cardioids, and Cartesian stars. All instructions and templates included, plus graph paper and examples. For a more mathematical lesson, students could draw their own circles with a compass in their maths books, and mark off the gradations with a protractor. Some of the shapes created with this resource can be used for practice in measuring angles. Designs may be filled with coloured pen, pencil or felt-tipped markers if desired, to produce very striking results. These designs look great when pinned up in the classroom, and each student's work is unique.
