These are the lessons plans and power points for one variable / linear equations. One variable is a more suitable description, as the lessons eventually leads to some very demanding multi (5+) steps, repeated fraction questions, as well as questions where the unknown initially appears on both sides.

Students are first introduced to the basic principles of algebra which stealthily guides all that they do. Then they apply that knowledge to learn strategies to solve one variable equations.

There are three lessons, and should be taught in that order. The bundle contains both the lesson presentations with 'overlay animations', where steps are reviewed one at a time. There is also an accompanying presenter view pdf for teachers for each lesson ppt. The documents are prepared meticulously with LaTeX, I hope you find these useful.

In addition, you can get unlimited number of high quality practice questions and solutions for linear equations on my website: www.onemathsquestions.com You can generate the worksheets yourself, and each question will come with a set of very detailed step by step solutions, set out in exactly the same way as the lesson presentation examples.

PS: Any comments or suggestions are very welcome, through TES or my website. In addition, if you need a particular type of question, you can ask me to make them for you (for free), sometimes I may just do it for you!

Best wishes,

Joe

Very nicely presented. Powerpoints are a little mouse happy. Loads of free stuff which is also of a high standard.
