The Measurement in Mathematics 1 - Practical Measuring Activities for the Classroom - For ages 5-6

Measurement in Mathematics Book 1 - concurs with current curriculum theories in that it provides activities which follow on from free play investigations. The activities are easy to use, with each thematic concept introduced with teachers’ notes. It contains sections on length, area, volume, capacity, mass and time. Many activities are designed to be taken in small groups, preferably with a parent helper. This is a Photocopy Master ebook (39 pages) and activity pages may be photocopied for use in the classroom. Our ebooks are in pdf format. Edubooks is an imprint of Ready-Ed Publications. Author: Jane Bourke

'Heavier than/Lighter than and Equal to' Activity Sheet

'Heavier than/Lighter than and Equal to' Activity Sheet

A great little starter activity to open a measurements lesson with. Can the children find items from around the classroom (or outdoors) that are more than/less than and equal to a set weight. I've had the children measure bags of rice to a certain weight to compare with previously.
