Year 2 Music lesson plan - Graphic Scores

Year 2 Music lesson plan - Graphic Scores

Included is a 3-week lesson plan based on children playing a range of percussion instruments following a graphic score. The planning highlights the Year 2 National Curriculum objectives, lesson objectives, teaching and assessment points. These lessons can be easily adapted and extended to last up to a full half term; this will depend on how quickly the children grasp the idea and understanding of graphic scores. I have also attached the PDF graphic scores, which I used and were a big help! These were taken from traditionalprimarymusic.com The children loved these musical lessons and developed some very good group work and co-ordination skills. Following the teaching and practise, they were able to create their own graphic score by the end of the unit.

Skipping Challenge Activity Instructions & Pupil Sheet

Skipping Challenge Activity Instructions & Pupil Sheet

This resource is the perfect resource for a term long block of skipping in PE lessons. It contains clear explanations on how to master a number of increasingly complex individual, partner and team skipping challenges. It explains how a child or group of children can learn how to do these skips, tells you where to source quality jump ropes, provides links to websites where you can source great video demonstration clips and also provides you with a useful individual pupil record sheet - where children can record their progress and teachers can keep a record of school skipping records. This resource is linked to the 'skipping workshops' skipping challenges and their website is a great starting point for skipping demonstrations. Basically this resource is all you need for a great set of skipping lessons (apart from a few ropes). I have also uploaded a set of six skipping certificates onto this website - so please check these out and download them. They're pretty basic, but are fully editable.
