Design Technology Pro-desktop creativity display

This is a fantastic resource that we use int he DT department as display material. These are drawings mainly from architecture and nature and how we turn them into creative products using CAD. Examples include a car, violin, CD rack, architecture and nature just to name a few. This resource was developed over a few years with A* exemplar materials of modelling and CAD. Developing Creativity through Self Directed Learning in Design Technology

Developing Creativity through Self Directed Learning in Design Technology

I wrote this resource / booklet some time ago as part of CPD to understand how creativity can be fostered through self directed learning in Design technology. This resource is 20 pages long giving examples of creativity in the DT classroom and how to harness this alongside student self directed learning. The aims were: o Developing a model of learning and teaching in DT that explicitly develops Self Directed Learning enhancing creativity. o Support heads of Department to become more effective in their role as leaders of learning in the subject, creating and managing an independent learning environment. During this phase we worked collaboratively with departments to promote independent directed learning leading to creativity in the classroom. To assess the impact of the project, a number of data sources are being drawn from including staff and student questionnaires and department student voice. This is a great teachers resource to develop and enhance their CPD in creativity within Design Technology.

This resource was creates alongside Bloom's Taxonomy to promote higer questioning techniques in Design Technology. I have created this resource to include A3 wall posters x7 alongside a word document with sample questioning stems and potential activities and products. This resource uses Bloom’s taxonomy to analyse design and technology questions. Bloom's was created in 1956 under the leadership of educational psychologist Dr Benjamin Bloom in order to promote higher forms of thinking in education, such as analyzing and evaluating concepts, processes, procedures, and principles, rather than just remembering facts
