Multiplying Brackets (Differentiated Worksheets)

Multiplying Brackets (Differentiated Worksheets)

Three worksheets which are at different difficulty levels (First Steps, Strengthen and Extend). The questions are carefully thought out so that they help students to develop the skills of multiplying two binomial expressions such as (x+2)(x–5), gradually moving to (2x–7)(x+3). The Extend activity gets tough and includes some trinomials. I have used these sheets in Y9, 10 and 11. Solutions are included.

GCSE Higher Expanding and factorising starter.

GCSE Higher Expanding and factorising starter.

This is a starter I have written for use with Higher students. It is an Excel sheet with questions about expanding and factorising which refreshes every time the sheet is opened. Alternatively F9 can be used on your keyboard to refresh the questions. The answers are provided as well and refreshes with the questions.

Function inverses multiple choice misconception quiz

Function inverses multiple choice misconception quiz

Find the correct inverse of the displayed function from the four choices. Only one is ever correct, and the others are designed to find misconceptions. Slides are timed and move on automatically. It is deliberately similar to a Kahoot quiz, as I can't figure our how to display decent mathematical notation on there, but like the way it is done generally. Answers included at the end.
