Year 3- 6 weeks of Maths and English

Year 3- 6 weeks of Maths and English

Don’t spend more time then you have to working at home! I have planned English and Maths Year 3 homework, for 6 weeks. English homework has exciting tasks for pupils to describe and use similes, whilst maths is a combination of volume, mass, litres, numbers and measurement. It won’t take too long for the children at home and it will reinforce learning.

Reading Scales Bingo Activity

Reading Scales Bingo Activity

Engaging bingo activity based on reading scales. Bingo is always popular with pupils and I have regularly used them in my lessons - my students have often requested them, or that we do them again after the first go. Pupils can either draw a 3 x 3 grid in their book, or you can print off some of the blank grids at the start of the powerpoint. They then fill their grid with a selection of the bingo question answers. Can play for both a line and a full house to extend the game or keep pupils interested if their questions aren’t coming up often. Checklist slide also included so that you can check the winning pupils board for mistakes! For replayability, the slide questions can be rearranged so they come up in a different order, but be aware that the checklist will need to be edited if this is done.

Estimate then Measure

Estimate then Measure

Estimate and measure objects (in cm) or larger areas (in m) using this versatile worksheet. If you haven’t got access to a trundle wheel to measure areas in metres, just ask your students to measure using long strides (these are equal to approximately 1 metre).
