A basic set of lessons showing the steps and stages to build a Cubist sculpture as an outcome. Divided into clear lessons with starters and activities and learning objectives First powerpoint: Understanding Cubism students do a presentation in their book and copy a detail of Cubism and draw out basic geometric shape faces. Students begin to understand Analytical cubism by drawing on a Celebrity photograph geometric shapes and to cut this up and re-arrange this in their book Students trace this collage they made out on a piece of paper. Second and Third powerpoint: Students begin to learn to paint basic shapes and students begin to learn to mix complementary colours Fourth powerpoint: Students use a card to paint lines and to define edges with sharp shapes like the analytical angles in a Cubism painting. Fifth powerpoint: Students begin to understand Synthetic cubism and cut up their painting and put this together in a construction sculpture. These are a set of basic lessons to use when teaching Cubism. They take a series of 6 lessons.

In this lesson, students learn fun facts about Georgia O’Keeffe and her art as they complete a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. Then, they use that knowledge to create an art project of their own, using O’Keeffe’s style, in Microsoft Paint, 3D Paint, or one of these free Web 2.0 tools: SketchPad (https://sketch.io/sketchpad/) or SumoPaint (https://www.sumopaint.com/home/#app) that do not require download. A complete answer key is provided for the WebQuest for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students. The student questions are included in both a print version and a digital (editable) version to make it easy for students to complete the lesson digitally or on paper.
