Persuasive Writing Bundle

Persuasive Writing Bundle

This bundle includes 9-11 lessons based on “Persuasive Writing”. This pack includes whole lessons that have everything you need to teach the topic and genre. Every lesson has a starter, a plenary, teaching models, group work and individual writing activities and HW tasks. I have also included a handy FAR inspired assessment sheet that can be used to mark the students’ work using specific criteria that they can learn and use to make very clear progress easily, and there is also a self-assessment activity that draws on FAR marking strategies too. It’s suitable for KS3 and KS4. However, some ppts are more suited to KS4 classes and gifted (or accelerated) KS3 classes. You’ll have to make that decision based on your class’ abilities and skills.

Achieving, creating, building Greater depth in persuasive writing KS2 Year 3, 4, 5

Achieving, creating, building Greater depth in persuasive writing KS2 Year 3, 4, 5

This resource structures persuasive writing for your whole class. In the past I have used this a whole lesson and written each sentence as a class to really create an in depth piece of writing. I would ask the children for their ideas and they would collaboratively come up with ideas and then write down after sharing them with whole class. I have also cut the sentence strips out and allowed my higher attaining pupils to play around with the structure. This resource allows the lowers a structure to follow and the opportunity to write without worrying about content and structure. I hope that you enjoy using this resource and that your children’s writing is wonderful! Many thanks

Year 6 Writing Evidence - Scheme of Learning

This writing bundle is designed to support children in demonstrating the skills required by the Interim Assessment Framework for 2017. It currently includes 2 short units of writing (Narrative and a Balanced Argument) is assumed at this point in the year that the children have been taught the skills required, but revision opportunities are offered in the scheme. The units do not need to be taught as a series or in a particular order and can be viewed as single tasks. Equally, lessons can be spread over more than one day to support the children. All example texts have been written to demonstrate the skills and grammar required by the Interim Assessment Framework. This bundle has been designed to help collect further evidence to support year 6 teacher judgments against age related standards. It also includes a heavily structured editing lesson that explicitly teaches the children how to edit and improve their own writing.

Outdoor Learning KS1 & KS2 resources

Outdoor Learning KS1 & KS2 resources

FIVE LESSONS FOR KS1 & KS2 This Resource Pack has been created for the summer term, to encourage teachers and pupils to get outside and to learn in an outdoor environment (in glorious sunshine, we hope!), using five of the best children’s fiction and non-fiction books as inspiration. The aim of this Resource Pack is for children to feel less inhibited, both physically and mentally, allowing them to learn with more freedom and apply their knowledge in a real-world context. It can be used with all children from KS1 through to KS2, recommended ages 5–11. Each lesson is based on an individual book and targeted at a different age-range, giving teachers flexibility to choose and differentiate as needed. The activities included can be taught as whole units or as individual activities to be dipped in and out of.
