Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, marks the first day of a brand new year in the Chinese calendar. 2026 marks the year of the Horse and the peak of the 15-day Spring Festival celebration, the Lantern Festival, will take place on 3 March, when people traditionally celebrate with meals, dancing and the giving and receiving of hongbao (red money envelopes).
