How does the media act as an agency of socialisation?

How does the media act as an agency of socialisation?

This lesson looks at body image, terrorism and ethnicity and how it is portrayed in the media. We have already done Citizen Khan but did not get the chance to do the exam question which is why it may seem out of place. I suggest watching 'Auntie Noor' or 'Naani's Return' for the students to make notes. Exam questions and some mark schemes have been included. There is an exam question for home work also.

Understanding Social Structures Revision book WJEC GCSE Sociology (Compulsory Core 2)

Understanding Social Structures Revision book WJEC GCSE Sociology (Compulsory Core 2)

Revision book for Understanding Social Structures (compulsory core 2). This is for the WJEC exam board. Can be used in conjunction with the WJEC GCSE Sociology book. Some activities and note taking sections for students to complete. There is also an exam tips section as well as a key terms section for students to fill in. I also have a revision book for Understanding Social Processes. No revision books exist for WJEC GCSE Sociology so I made this. Students have found this very useful.

GCSE SOCIOLOGY KEY WORDS GLOSSARY UNIT 1 STUDYING SOCIETY EDUCATION FAMILY

GCSE SOCIOLOGY KEY WORDS GLOSSARY UNIT 1 STUDYING SOCIETY EDUCATION FAMILY

Hi all. Please see my key words glossary for Unit 1 AQA Sociology covering every key word from the specification in pupil friendly language. You can use this for revision, planning and interventions. I think it could be really helpful as the subject can be very wordy and pupils can lose confidence. This will help pupils quickly understand the key words and how to apply them. Please do leave feedback as these resources will continue to be developed for another two years until a new reformed Sociology course begins. Thanks for your time. best wishes

Sociology H580 / H180 Demography: Birth Rates with Cornell Notes

Sociology H580 / H180 Demography: Birth Rates with Cornell Notes

A lesson for the new Sociology OCR specification, unit 1: H580 Family The lesson looks at demography, with a focus on birth rates. There is also a handout which helps students use Cornell Notes - this is not something I would recommend for every lesson but the idea is to help them to spread their notes out, write down only the essentials and to develop shorthand. PLEASE KEEP CHECKING FOR FURTHER RESOURCES AND DO LEAVE ME FEEDBACK SO I CAN KEEP IMPROVING THE LESSONS FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS.

Sociology H580 / H180 Mini-Mock - OCR Template, Class Support and Mark Scheme

Sociology H580 / H180 Mini-Mock - OCR Template, Class Support and Mark Scheme

A mini-mock (Section A of this exam - the 6/12/20 mark questions) on the first long term of lessons (my lessons uploaded on the TES as Lessons 1-18). I have used an OCR exam script 'look' and adapted it for this exam to get students used to the look and feel of the exam. I have also used some old questions and adapted them for this mock. I have put together a PowerPoint to accompany the mock - a 'walking talking' mock - with strategies for answering the questions and writing frames for each question. I have collated the mark schemes from the exam questions and adapted them for the new specification so that the right marks are allocated and the right AOs are being hit. This should make marking much simpler. To follow up, I have included the feedback lesson, including model, answers, so that you can complete a formative feedback process when giving the mocks back. PLEASE KEEP CHECKING FOR FURTHER RESOURCES AND DO LEAVE ME FEEDBACK SO I CAN KEEP IMPROVING THE LESSONS FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS. Copyright - the exam paper layout/template belongs to OCR. I have asked permission to use this.
