Behaviour Assembly

Behaviour Assembly

An assembly which focuses on why positive attitudes towards learning and good behaviour are essential in order for students to have successful futures. The assembly encourages the students to link their behaviour they display now with their future career prospects. The assembly also explores the concept of unrealistic expectations when it comes to career prospects and emphasises why working hard at school is not only important but essential for eventual happy and fulfilled lives. Lasts 15-20 mins if all questions asked and clip is watched. Many more inexpensive and free resources at my shop: EC_Resources Leave me a review and pick any other resource for free :)

Royal Air Force RAF Wordsearch Careers Jobs Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Royal Air Force RAF Wordsearch Careers Jobs Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Wordsearch on the theme of 'The RAF'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Peer/self/teacher assessment grid

Peer/self/teacher assessment grid

To ease marking, this is an assessment grid. Students RAG whether they have met the objective of the lesson, this can be done as a peer or self assessed. The teacher would then add to the grid and either add a comment or wish.

Post It Notes in a Big Pile: Studying, Revision, Notes, Success

Post It Notes in a Big Pile: Studying, Revision, Notes, Success

I took these photos as I was writing my 'Primary School Diaries' novel, soon to be published on Amazon for ages 8 and up. As part of my planning I had stuck lots of post it notes on the wall to help me order my thoughts, and as I transferred the notes onto my computer, I scrunched each one up and threw it in a pile. The pile could look like failure, but to me it was a picture of success, or breaking down a big task into little bite size chunks, and the pile of screwed up paper growing as I achieved each little task. I hope these photos will inspire students with their own studying or challenges they face. Understanding who you are and how you communicate

Understanding who you are and how you communicate

As part of a PSHCE or SEND SOW this lesson(s) can be used to explore the different ways individuals learn, what the best way to learn is for them and also how communication can impact on themselves and others positively and negatively. This is a mini SOW that can take up to 3 lessons depending on your learners. The language and time taken can be adapted to fit the needs of all learners, I currently use this with a SEND group and talk them through the activities. This was originally designed to provide students who were struggling with social, emotional skills to develop self awareness and understanding which in turn would improve their ability to access learning in the classroom.
