Chemistry Required Practicals - NEW AQA GCSE Chemistry Trilogy Paper 1 Revision

Chemistry Required Practicals - NEW AQA GCSE Chemistry Trilogy Paper 1 Revision

This resource contains revision mats for the required practicals in the Chemistry section of the new AQA Science Trilogy paper 1. Answers will be uploaded shortly. Practicals Include: Making Salts Electrolysis Temperature Change They contain questions about methodology, scientific enquiry and analysis of results. These can be given after teaching the required practical, homework or at the end of year 11 for revision before their exams. My current year 11s have found these particularly useful to go through in revision lessons and have taken extra home to use as revision tools. Please rate this resource and follow me for further resources to come. Let me know of any changes you think I could make to improve this resource.

Ionic Bonding

Ionic Bonding

I made this lesson with the intention of either teaching it to a higher ability yr 10 or yr 9 class over one 90 minute lesson, or teaching to a lower ability class over two 90 minute lessons. Lesson contains a PowerPoint presentation on Ionic bonding along with notes section explaining each slide. Lesson is used for AQA chemistry specification and aims to teach the following Learning Objectives: • Illustrate the process of ionic bonding between Mg and Cl ions • Calculate the charge of an ion from the group number of the element. • Describe the limitations of diagrams / models to represent giant ionic structures. Lesson also includes practical demonstration which requires the use of a fume cupboard as well as an interactive “game” that requires IT access and an exam style stretch question.

AQA GCSE Chemistry C10 REVISION (Using resources)

AQA GCSE Chemistry C10 REVISION (Using resources)

A fully resourced lesson presentation (53 slides) and associated worksheet that uses a combination of exam questions, understanding checks, quick tasks and a quiz competition to help the students to assess their understanding of the topics found within unit C10 (Using resources) of the AQA GCSE Chemistry specification (specification point C4.10). The lesson includes useful hints and tips to encourage success in assessments. The topics that are tested within the lesson include: Potable water Waste water treatment Alternative methods of extracting metals Using materials The Haber process Students will be engaged through the numerous quiz rounds including one called “It’s time for acTION” which requires students to work out a process (ending in -tion) from the provided definition
