Guess the number 1-10 game (German)

Guess the number 1-10 game (German)

When students have learnt the numbers 1-10 in German this activity can be used as a quiz to test their knowledge. Each question has 4 answers and the correct one will highlight in green when clicked, the others, when clicked, will appear red. The numbers are in a random order. A cartoon character is used to ask the questions, but there is no audio.

End of term puzzle for Stimmt 1 unit 1 Meine Welt

End of term puzzle for Stimmt 1 unit 1 Meine Welt

This is a tarsia puzzle to practise vocab from chapter 1 in Stimmt 1. A tarsia consists of puzzle pieces that the students cut out and then match words to form a certain shape (ideally students don’t know what shape that is). They will quickly realise their mistakes if the puzzle won’t fit together. Great activity for Friday afternoons, cover lessons or end of term This download includes: sheets for students with jumbled up puzzle pieces, an answer sheet for the teacher in list form and one showing the shape. If the print quality of the student slide isn’t good enough, use the attached pdf file.

Kagen Table Labels in German

Kagen Table Labels in German

These are small squares which can be printed off, laminated and stuck to your classroom tables to introduce Kagen techniques to your German classes. I have created examples in sets of 4, but these can be edited. They go three ways: by A/B, by 1-4, or by table. Enjoy!

QQT Cards - German Speaking Activity on Digital Time

QQT Cards - German Speaking Activity on Digital Time

A class set of Quiz Quiz Trade cards to practise digital time in German. How Quiz Quiz Trade works: Every student gets a card. They get up and find a partner. They then 'quiz' their partner by reading out an English sentence for them to translate. Once both partners have done a translation, they swap cards and find another partner. The answer is on the cards so students can check that they are right. I like to give students a certain amount of time and for them to see how many conversations they can have in that time.

Worksheet on Timetables and Opinions on School Subjects

Worksheet on Timetables and Opinions on School Subjects

Students need to extract information from a written text and a timetable in order to answer a set of true or false questions. There is also a translation activity as an extension (this is why there are lines under each statement). The worksheet would be a good scaffolding activity to support students with describing their own timetables.

Are you learning German? Are you looking for a fun way to learn German? I have developed a way to learn different languages based on my experience as an ESL teacher. This pack has 57 different settings for students to talk about in German. The worksheets themselves are in English and the students do need to translate the places and objects they see into German. At the end of the session, the students can play a fun game of word bingo to show they have mastered that day's vocabulary. Try it, it is a lot of fun for everyone!
