AQA GCSE: Trilogy Chemistry Relay Cards (with answers)

AQA GCSE: Trilogy Chemistry Relay Cards (with answers)

20 questions covering a range of content from the chemistry GCSE Trilogy specification. Answers are short and sweet, and is ideal for revision or fun game recapping content. Students get very competitive! I would advise printing in colour and laminating so they can be used multiple times. I would suggest marking on the back though so you know which pack each card belongs too. I have provided answers to all questions. On some questions there are more challenging BONUS questions that you can allocate extra points for. I usually have a prize for the first group to finish, and then one for those with the highest number of points. Students cannot move onto the next question until they have given you the right answer. I usually think 4 per team is ideal for this. If there are any mistakes please let me know, and I would really appreciate if you could take the time to review. Thanks :)

AQA Combined Science Trilogy: 5.5 Energy Changes Quiz

AQA Combined Science Trilogy: 5.5 Energy Changes Quiz

Want to quickly and easily review a chapter of the AQA Combined Science Trilogy specification? Want to be able to lead pupils to a targeted revision list to enable them to close their gaps? This revision resource consists of a range of questions across the specific specification points. There are a minimum of two questions per spec code. The specification document has been closely used to guarantee the correct use of terminology and phrasing. This leads to pupils then self-marking after each sub topic. This will consist of them marking and noting the identified spec code in a WWW or EBI list. Once the quiz is completed they will then follow the instructions to create their own personalised review of the full quiz and self-generate their personalised revision list by specification name using the supplied list. This activity is 1-2 lessons depending on the depth of revision time you allow the pupils though these tasks can be class or homework. Lesson plan included.

GCSE Chemistry (9-1) - TOPIC 7 Heat Energy Changes in Chemical Reactions Knowledge Organiser

GCSE Chemistry (9-1) - TOPIC 7 Heat Energy Changes in Chemical Reactions Knowledge Organiser

SPEC IT, REVISE IT, TEST IT. If students know EXACTLY WHAT they need to revise (using the specification checklist) it makes for smarter revision. If they can TEST THEMSELVES to measure their understanding - even better! This resource is a comprehensive but concise knowledge organiser covering Heat Energy Changes in Chemical Reactions (including bond energy calculations/ exothermic vs endothermic and energy profiles - I’ve also included my nifty way of helping students remember the difference between making and breaking bonds in terms of their exothermic and endothermic properties!). This knowledge organiser has been made against the Edexcel specification but would easily be applicable to others. The Knowledge Organiser is applicable to students sitting standard or higher tier papers (studying Separate or Combined Science routes). Each revision point has been written as a typical ‘stock exam answer’ and cuts out all the waffle.

Chemical Bonds Lab: Growing Ionic Crystals! Solutions, Solubility, Saturation

Chemical Bonds Lab: Growing Ionic Crystals! Solutions, Solubility, Saturation

Chemical Bonds Lab: Growing Ionic Crystals! Solutions, Solubility, Saturation This is a lab designed for 7-9th grades where students pick either halite, epsomite, or alum to grow crystals with. The student handout is comprehensive and thorough. Every year I do this lab the kids have a blast. It is designed for the teacher to do the heating for super saturation. I personally use a large griddle of my own to heat several beakers at a time. I recently acquired access to several hot plates and ran this lab by allowing students to do their own heating. It works either way! See it on TpT
