Physics Chatterbox/Cootie catcher: Circuit symbols

Physics Chatterbox/Cootie catcher: Circuit symbols

Looking for ways to spruce up your physics lessons? Try these chatterboxes! Most children have used these at some point in their lives and will love being able to make them within class. This chatterbox helps students to learn the key circuit symbols required for secondary school/high school. These are great to use at any point during the curriculum. I have used these with students aged between 11 and 18 and they have all loved them! Two files are included. One with colour and the other without depending on your needs. Either way I recommend allowing students to decorate their chatterboxes however they like to encourage personal learning.

Valentines STEAM: Create a Valentines Card with Circuit Stickers

Valentines STEAM: Create a Valentines Card with Circuit Stickers

Children will evaluate different Valentines cards before designing their own with circuit stickers. If you don’t have access to Chibitronics circuit stickers, you can improvise with small LEDs and wire or copper tape. Graphite pencil lead also works well (as well as aluminum foil in a pinch), and the children will be shown how to do this during the prototyping stage of the design process. This unit will follow 2014 National Curriculum of England’s Design Technology objectives. A digital copy for editing and sharing on Google Classroom and Seesaw is available by following the link provided with download.

Facebook 'like' thumbs up

Facebook 'like' thumbs up

A page of facebook thumbs up 'like' buttons that can be printed and laminated. I use these during self and peer assessment both individual and group. Students are able to 'like' a piece of work, which initiates discussion.

AQA Design and Technology mock (new specification 2017) practice exam full paper sections A, B and C

AQA Design and Technology mock (new specification 2017) practice exam full paper sections A, B and C

Research suggests that one of the best ways for students to revise for an exam is to engage in past paper practice, the more the better (Roediger et al., 2005). However, with the release of new specifications for exams comes the problem that past papers just don't exist, therefore giving students the opportunity to practice the exam and build confidence going into the exam is limited. This full practice exam paper is designed to cover the content from the core technical principles, the specialist technical principles and the designing and making principles of the AQA GCSE Design and Technology new specification and is out of 100 marks. This significant resource will give students practice in answering questions in exactly the same format that they will face in their real exam. Alternatively, this resource can be used as a mock exam. The exam is split into 3 sections, A, B and C with a markscheme for each. This resource includes a cover sheet in the same style as the AQA exam adding authenticity to the student experience. The author of this resource is a TES recommended author, an IB Senior Examiner and has been published by Harper Collins (CIS Design and Technology Student book and Teacher guide)

This practice exam paper section C is designed to cover the content from the designing and making principles of the AQA GCSE Design and Technology new specification and give students practice in answering questions in exactly the same format that they will face in their real exam. There are short and longer response questions which test students ability to apply their knowledge to design scenarios. This paper is out of 50 marks. This resource includes a markscheme written in the AQA style and a cover sheet in the same style as the AQA exam adding authenticity to the student experience. This question paper is also available cheaper in the whole exam resource which covers sections A, B and C.
