Art Pottery Wordsearch Ceramic Clay Design Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Art Pottery Wordsearch Ceramic Clay Design Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

3 x Wordsearches on the theme of 'Pottery'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Compositions Bundle.

Compositions Bundle.

Three resources to teach and mark compositions. Save over 40% with this bundle. 1) Do your students struggle when creating compositions? This worksheet is designed to support students when they are creating compositions by making suggestions of things to consider. It asks them to think about different shapes, sizes, or even a series. It ends with ideas for annotation and a useful word bank. This is a Word document so you can tweek it to your needs should you wish. This worksheet puts you in control as you can give your class guidelines based on this resource. e.g. pick at least three of the shapes, make sure one idea is a series, make sure you cover all the annotation points. 2) Don't you find that when you are marking compositions that you are writing the same thing again and again? These stickers address that problem! This set of stickers includes each type of error students make both as a target and as a Question. (I know that in some schools like mine, you have to mark with a question!) Targets and Questions include: annotation, identifying students best design, colour, contrast/tone, links to artists, quality of drawing, and using the space on the page well. 3) Every child should receive this presentation in KS3 or 4. It covers what composition is and looks at: Balance Contrast Focus Movement Pattern Rhythm Scale and Proportion Unity There is a script within the presentation which you should print off before presenting. The presentation is animated. There are 10 slides but because of the animation students will look at 24 works of art. www.TheArtyTeacher.com
