Christmas Menu Maths FREE with CODE WOWVEMBER

Christmas Menu Maths FREE with CODE WOWVEMBER

An excellent way to bring some festive cheer to your Maths lessons with a visit to the Christmas Cafe. Children study the menus (differentiated 3 ways - prices in pence up to 20, prices in pence up to £1, prices in £ using decimals); they then proceed to answer questions on the task cards; alternatively, a teacher can set a budget for the children to spend in the cafe or use fake money and role play. The choice is yours. Great for practising the four basic operations, place value and decimals. Included in the resource: 3 differentiated menus, 24 task cards. If you have a suggestion or spotted a mistake, please do not hesitate to contact me on the email address provided on the last page of the resource. Introduction to Budgeting / Saving - Fun at the Fair!

Introduction to Budgeting / Saving - Fun at the Fair!

This lesson was created as an introduction to budgeting / saving for a one-off KS2 lesson, but would also work as a KS3 lesson (depending on whether they have been introduced to budgeting / saving before) 1) Have each student fill out the "Things to do at the Fair!" tick sheet - ticking all the things they would like to do at the fair. 2) Give out the "How much will it Cost?" information sheet so that students are able to fill in the "How much will it Cost?" calculation sheet. At the end of this step, each student should have a total amount amount of money they would need in order to do everything they wanted to do at the Fair. 3) Print out (on card if possible) and cut out all the money scenario cards. Hand one to each student and have them calculate how they will pay for their day at the Fair. (Depending on the class, it may work best to have them do this in partners so they can discuss with each other) 4) As an extension, students could a) discuss with the class what they will do to budget / save for their day at the Fair; b) they could think other ways to earn / save money; c) they could modify their "Things to do at the Fair" tick sheet so that it is more affordable; d) they could calculate how much a day at the fair would cost for their whole family.

Money, Change, Finding a Total Worksheets - Basics - SEN - Low Ability Older Children PAID VERSION

Money, Change, Finding a Total Worksheets - Basics - SEN - Low Ability Older Children PAID VERSION

This same resource is available free of charge, however, I would be grateful to those that can afford it to pay. Rent is high, my TA wage is low, and I get no help despite part-time university study! Various useful money based worksheets. I have used these for older children with SEN. Includes Learning Objectives, but they can be cut off, or edited to suit your needs. Each worksheet comes in .PDF and .PUB formats. The reason for this is to give you the flexibility to edit them as you wish.
