Feelings and Emotions

Feelings and Emotions

Feelings and Emotions Flash Cards: These cards are a great way to review human emotions as well as causes. There is a lot of good vocabulary work contained in the cards including various synonyms for emotions (angry, furious, mad...). This game plays like the game fish, but with a catch: First they have to ask if the other student has that emotion and then they ask about the reason. They have to match both reason and emotion to get the point. When asking about emotion, they can choose from any of the possible synonym for the emotion. S1: Are you sad (upset, depressed)? S2: Yes, I am. (Or: No, I'm not. Go fish.) S1: Are you sad because your best friend is moving to another city? S2: Yes, I am. (Or: No, I'm not. Go fish.) In order to play this game, you will have to print off two sets of cards and glue them onto poster board and cut them out.

OCCUPATIONS Memory cards

OCCUPATIONS Memory cards

A memory game is a funny way to learn vocabulary. School year is almost over in most of the countries. Have students review occupations while having fun, matching pictures with the correct words.Comments are appreciated. Playing the Game The first player chooses a card and carefully turns it over. Be sure not to bother the surrounding cards. The player then selects another card and turns it over. If the two cards are a matching pair for example two Jacks then they take the two cards and start a stack. The player is awarded another turn for making a match and goes again. If the cards are not a match they are turned back over and it is now the next players turn. The next player chooses their first card and turns it over. If it is a match for one of the cards the previous player turned over then they try to remember where that matching card was and turn it. If they are successful at making a match they place the cards in their stack and choose another card. If the first card turned over was not a match for one previously turned over the player selects another card in an attempt of making a pair. If they are unsuccessful in making a match they flip the cards back over and play is passed to the next player. A players turn is not over until they are unable to make a matching pair. The game continues in this fashion until all the cards are played.

The la-la song - A circle song for early years’ learners (0-5 year olds)

The la-la song - A circle song for early years’ learners (0-5 year olds)

At last! Musicbuds is here offering an exceptional range of original and well-crafted resources underpinning common musical objectives whilst focused on prominent EYFS themes. Aimed at all Early Years’ practitioners from class teachers, music specialists, teaching assistants, playgroup leaders to EAL and SEND support teachers. This song was originally written for a group of young children who were all second English language speakers, with varying degrees of language development. The 'la-la' part of the song was written so that everyone could join in. The kinaesthetic approach – ‘doing’ as you sing was an easy way to demonstrate language (whilst singing it). The musical inspiration for the music was the circular Greek songs often performed at weddings! Can be used as a stand-alone circle song/part of Circle time; a physical song to develop bilateral integration (using two hands/feet together in a coordinated manner e.g. clapping/stamping) or reciprocal movements (where first one hand or leg and then the other carries out the same movement in a rhythmical way) or as Song 6 in our 30-minute music and movement session. Each song includes: 1) A comprehensive lesson plan -highlighting EYFS and Music objectives covered -directions on classroom management -recommended list of props/visual aids -ideas for Extended learning  -inclusive planning for children with EAL/SEND profiles -different ways to deliver the material from Music/EYFS perspectives -formatted to allow easy cut-and-paste options into planning documents 2) Audio tracks - vocal & backing 3) Sheet music - for piano & guitar 4) Lyrics  -teachers’ lyrics with directions for classroom management  -children’s lyrics suitable for a Songbook

Mother Baby Matching Activities

Mother Baby Matching Activities

This set of activities relates well to the book Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman. Match mother animals with their babies in this set of hands-on play: a barnyard scene, tracing pages, and matching flashcards. The first activity is a simple cut-and-paste sort asking children to cut out the objects and sort them in to the correct side: “Has a Mother” or “Does not have a mother.” Next is a barn template for making a mother-baby farm animal sort. If desired, cut out the animals and match. Or, tape the animal strips together to make a slide-and-match activity, as shown in the image to the right. The babies fit in the top window, and the mothers fit in the barn doors space. Pages 7 to 9 include tracing pages for children to practice tracing lines from the baby animal to the mother. The remainder of this set includes mother and baby flashcards. Pages 10-15 are without labels. Pages 16 to 21 include the name of the animal and the name of the baby.
