This resource contains an adapted work folder that targets a range of different life skills for your students. ★ 20 activities included. ★ This resource also comes with 2 different levels for the grocery shopping/payment pages as well as girl/boy options for some pages. This resource comes in both spelling options of colour and color. It comes with different PDFs to suit a variety of different countries (mainly because of the coins used when purchasing food in the grocery store) This resource contains UK coins. The activities included in this folder are; ♦ Writing/Spelling name ♦ Doing the laundry Putting dirty washing and detergent into the washing machine, transferring clothes from washing machine onto the washing line, then off the washing line and into the basket ♦ Matching socks ♦ Putting items away - kitchen v garden ♦ Grocery shopping - 2 different levels Finding items on your shopping list, taking them off the shelves and into your trolley. This resource material is for countries using the euro currency. This pack relates to euros and euro cents currency. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. The presentation can be used as follow-up to the first pack and builds upon the skills students have learnt previously. It still uses a step-by-step approach to teaching money but using higher value coins. This pack contains: - A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (53 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. 1.Reviewing coins and their values, money exchange and using the 50c, €1 and €2 coins. 2. Using €1 and €2 euro coins. Using combination of coins to equal the value of the one euro and two euro coins. 3. Using euros and cents together - this is explained in the presentation with various whole class activities 4. Giving change from €1 and € 2 euro coins. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. Students also learn to change, e.g. 125 cents to €1.25. - 4 Flexible Lesson Plans - contains objectives, plenaries and main lesson. PowerPoint Slides are referred to in the lesson plans. Some preparation is required: Laminate the coin sheets, coin cards and price tags for practical tasks at tables. - Worksheets Lesson 1 - Adding up combinations of euro coins (2 worksheets). This resource relates to Canadian currency - nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars (loonies). Aimed at: Grades 1 and 2 The worksheets are in color and grayscale. WITH ANSWER SHEETS Each of the four worksheets contain a variety of tasks for students to complete on the topic of buying school supplies/stationery. Worksheet 1 - Students look at the pictures and price of each item and then work out how much two items of school supplies cost. Two questions at the bottom: Which student spent the most? Which student spent the least amount of money? Worksheet 2 - This worksheet is similar to the above except students are working out what 3 items of school supplies cost. Worksheet 3 - Students answer 6 questions about the items, e.g. Which item is the most expensive? How much less do the crayons cost than the ruler? etc. The next task is to write the new price for each item which has risen by 10c. Worksheet 4 - The first task is to write the new price of the items which have risen by 20c. Second task - to add up 3 items of school supplies at the new price. Worksheet 5 - Sale Now On! - Students reduce the price of each item by 5 cents. They then recalculate the items of stationery bought (subtraction) Additional worksheets: 1. Drawing coins to match the price tags - Students use the fewest number of coins as many time as they can. 2. Add coins and write the total on the price tag for each object shown.
