Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day Fortune Teller Craft for Gift Vouchers or Promises

Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day Fortune Teller Craft for Gift Vouchers or Promises

Fortune Tellers, or Cootie Catchers, for a printable Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day craft gift. Students really love fortune tellers, or cootie catcher, so why not use them for a fun craft idea for Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day and for any special person? This is a craft, thinking, writing, drawing activity. These are IOU promises or pledges that students offer as gifts. The idea is that they can play with the mother or father, and end up on a promise to do something, as a gift. I’ve included a list of suggestions to offer. This is like a book of gift vouchers, that can be used over and over. Students decorate the catcher with items the parents likes and writes the promises, or IOU pledges in the center. There are instructions, and a QR code to watch someone make a cooties catcher, so this could be a centre task, with students independently reading, listening and following instructions. There’s a choice of eight catchers:  Mothers’ Day  Fathers’ Day  You’re a Special person (for grandparents, step-parents, friends)  Some are complete with images and promises  Some are almost blank, for students to think, decide, draw, write Although I designed these for Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day, some catchers are suitable for Valentines, grandparents, or special gifts.

Easter Go Fish Card Game (have/have got)

Easter Go Fish Card Game (have/have got)

A card game to practice Easter vocabulary and have/have got in their various forms. To play: Divide students into groups of 4 or so and deal 4-5 cards each. The rest go in the middle and make the pond /pool/. On his turn, a player asks someone for a card (Have you got…? or Do you have…?) in order to get 4 of a kind (or 6, depending on how many cards you make). If the player has the card, he must hand it over and the player whose turn it is can ask anyone for another card. If the answer is negative, the player is told to go fish and to take a card from the pond and the next person asks for a card. When a player has 4 (or 6) of a kind, he sets them on the table and plays again. Continue until all the cards run out (all the cards have been grouped together into families according to their picture). The winner is the person with the most families. This worksheet contains two of each picture, so I would suggest printing it two or three times to form a set where students can get 4 or 6 of a kind. Enjoy!
