Insects - a cross curriculum unit

Description of unit: Expectations for Grades 1-3 are stated. There are evaluation and assessment suggestions. You will find a comprehensive list of suitable books with activities for each one. Language activities include writing, discussing, phonics and word play. Science activities deal with the characteristics of bugs, metamorphosis and camouflage. Art activities encourage the students to make models, paint with different media and observe. Math activities introduce counting, multiplication, shape, weight and comparisons. Music activities provide links to songs and recordings. Students will enjoy this engaging unit.
