German Escape room Der Stundenplan (timetable and subjects)

German Escape room Der Stundenplan (timetable and subjects)

A lesson that your students will not forget quickly! A timetable themed escape room activity in which students need to do German language related puzzles to get a find all the codes to help Johann stay out of trouble at school . Ideal as vocab revision for the first year of German. Will keep them focused even in the last lesson before the holidays! It includes vocab from the topics school subjects and opinions, numbers, colours, telling the time, hobbies (online activities). There is a “digital only” version and a" mixed media" (digital+paper) version. The “mixed media” version is more fun because it involves the game website and real life puzzles ( jigsaws, code wheels and string activities) that make the activities more “real”, but requires quite a bit of preparation by the teacher. The “digital” version only requires one print out and can be done last minute. The resource includes: Link to "Der Stundenplan” website Teacher instruction, including how to put together the puzzle items and example pictures Teacher answers Powerpoint with game introduction Puzzles to print out/Files for digital versions

I am glad to share this wonderful game with you. It is great fun for learners to actually use their language skills to describe a word and the others guessing it. ❤️ About me ❤️ Hi there 👋🏼! I´m Cindy from Leipzig, Germany. I have been a German and English teacher for more than 12 years now. And I love coffee breaks ☕️. Coffee is just great. Over the years I have realized how much my students benefit most from lessons where THEY are the leaders, where THEY are encouraged to be proactive and learn from each other. Handing over the reins to my students doesn’t make me weaker as a teacher. It makes them responsible for their own learning and is highly motivating. I don’t want my students to be sailors. I want them to be CAPTAINS! (And I want coffee!) My teaching resources are all designed to enable students to USE the language. This is why you will always find the communicative approach in my resources - even simple crosswords come with ideas for speaking activities. All of my resources have been tested in class and will be updated regularly. Please rate my resources to help me build a reputation among millions of resources. Thanks for working with me ☺️ Cindy Please see my other resources, too: [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/CindyKuehne]

German – Describing People – Physical Descriptions & Characteristics.

German – Describing People – Physical Descriptions & Characteristics.

This is a set of resources to introduce describing others and oneself. There is a lengthy PowerPoint (76 slides) that goes through describing height, build, hair and eyes with reinforcement activities, match up activities, gap fills, translations and reading comprehension. It then goes on to introduce 16 characteristics with match ups, snake sentences and reading comprehensions. The final activity is the creation of a wanted poster for students to complete. There is an 8-page worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. These resources are enough for several lessons and start from introduction through to pupils confidently using all of the new language, creating whole descriptions of themselves and others.

German – Conversation Cards – Questions and Answers.

This is a set of 28 question cards and 28 answer cards to get your pupils speaking to each other in German and great to use as starters for target language practice. They include questions about name age, likes, favourites, preferences, family, daily routine, and many more. (Easier level) Question cards only given to pairs to practice a conversation. Students will need to form their own answers. (Middle level) Students are only given the answer cards and need to use these to form the relevant questions. (Harder level) It is essential that pupils can ask questions (not just answer them). German KS2 & KS3 - Creating Funny Families. (Self & Family)

German KS2 & KS3 - Creating Funny Families. (Self & Family)

This set of resources is an excellent way to finish work on self and family. It will take at least 4 lessons. There is a build up to the main activity when pupils work in groups and create their own funny families, which they present to the rest of the class. I have used this over many years with many groups and have refined it. I can honestly say pupils love doing it. Everything is presented in a step-by-step format and could be used by a non-specialist or cover teacher. There are two Power Points and range of worksheets. The first PowerPoint is to re-cap work on self and family and will be a lead into the main activity. In this first PowerPoint three members of the same family present information about themselves – the first very simply, the next has more information and the third is a longer text. For the first two family members there are differentiated exercises – very simple with circling the correct answer or true and false to open ended questions. You can choose to use different tasks for different ability groups within the class or it can all be used for the whole class. The second PowerPoint introduces the group activity in a step-by-step way. Pupils will work in groups to create a funny family, but each person in the group will be responsible for one family member so ultimately each pupil will be producing their own piece of work. There are several help sheets for pupils of all abilities and there are answers for all exercises included. Finally the pupils will present their families in groups to the rest of the class. They can be assessed on the written work produced and/or the oral presentation.
