Los colores - Colurs in Spanish - Booklet of activities

This is a booklet of activities I have created for my Year 7/8 Spanish class. I have used it for cover as it is quite self explanatory and includes lots of activities and the vocab. This resource includes: -> 19 activities -> A variety of activities (word search, crossword, colouring, translation, vocab activities, …) -> The first page has the vocab with all the colours they’ll need to know in Spanish/English. -> I have uploaded the booklet in PDF (to use preferably) but also in Publisher so it can be modified (although some of the fonts I use might disappear). Hope it helps!

Las formas y los colores - ¿Quién tiene? - Card Game

Las formas y los colores - ¿Quién tiene? - Card Game

This game is a classic "I have ... Who has...? designed to practice simple shapes and colors in Spanish. This is an easy-to-play game and a great way to practice essential language concepts with the whole class. As students match up the answers on their cards with questions on other students’ cards, they get valuable practice with vocabulary as well as with reading and listening skills. Directions: Cut out the cards along the dotted line and laminate. For bigger classes, you might want to print several copies of each set. Give out all the cards in the set to the students. It is important to use all the cards. Choose a student to go first. I usually do that by a counting rhyme (for example, "En la casa de Pinocho, solo cuentan hasta ocho, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8". Have the selected student read the question at the bottom of the card aloud and then put the card down. The student who has the card with the answer then reads that answer aloud. This student will then read the question at the bottom of their card and put the card down. Play continues in this fashion until all of the cards have been played. The game will end with the same student who started play. Every card in the set is connected to a card before it and a card after it. To keep the game moving at a quick pace, all students need to pay attention to every question that’s asked. I tell my younger students that this is a magic game and that the magic only works if you pay attention, which is actually true. The magic happens in the end, when the question on the last card actually matches the answer on the very first card. Enjoy!

Spanish 'Clothes / La Ropa' - Yrs 8/9 (GCSE revision) Uniform, clothes, colours, opinions.

Spanish 'Clothes / La Ropa' - Yrs 8/9 (GCSE revision) Uniform, clothes, colours, opinions.

2 different sheets introducing Clothes vocab. One more general clothes and one with those specific to School Uniform. Pics and vocab given. Students to match. Encourage to do by using cognates, near-cognates and knowledge of any patterns with another language. Both in large font, so can be printed 2 into 1. One with more general clothes has second page with reading exercise on which is in 2 levels. Gold harder (text and have to find the 4 correct statements. Text includes clothes, colours, opinions and time frequencies). Silver easier (4 sentences, choose correct details for each from A, B or C) Both have a little vocab exercise at the end, to find language from sentences/paragraph. This second sheet with the reading exercises, can easily be adapted to change some clothes vocab to school uniform clothes instead, should you want to do that. The other resource has 2 texts in large font, which can be done as a running or pair dictation. These texts also include preterite past tense (I wore) and more opinions. This could also be done as a reading exercise, as large pictures are on second page and can either be cut out to put in order mentioned in texts OR you can print the sheet 2 into 1 and students number pics and then put numbers under texts in right order. Extension could be to either ask for extra details, find synonyms or antonyms, adapt details or translate texts into English.
