The Nativity Band (The Christmas Nativity Story told using musical instruments)

The Nativity Band (The Christmas Nativity Story told using musical instruments)

An original re-telling of the Nativity Story giving the children the opportunity to play classroom percussion instruments as well. In the story the 'teachers' ask the children which instruments would best paint a musical picture of the characters in the story. As the instruments are selected and played the characters take centre stage and the story unfolds. The children, teachers and parents from Sacred Heart School in Ware and St Joseph's in Hertford really loved the performances.

Song and Rhyme at Christmas Time (A Simple Christmas Nativity)

Song and Rhyme at Christmas Time (A Simple Christmas Nativity)

A simple re-telling of the traditional nativity with narration in rhyme, acting and singing. The songs are simple with opportunities for dancing and soloists but the addition of actions in the choruses of the songs means that all children feel involved and have a happy and pro-active nativity experience whilst learning about the true meaning of Christmas.

The Littlies Nativity (A Christmas Nativity Play for Playgroups and EYFS)

The Littlies Nativity (A Christmas Nativity Play for Playgroups and EYFS)

A short and sweet chronological re-telling of the Nativity Story using well known children's songs. This was written as a special request from St Joseph's Playgroup in Hertford for their Christmas performance in 2014. The parents loved the children's performance and the playgroup leaders said it helped the children to remember the events leading up to the very first Christmas Day. Great fun was had by all.

Star Reporters (A Christmas Nativity for EYFS AND KS1)

Star Reporters (A Christmas Nativity for EYFS AND KS1)

'Star Reporters' is a retelling of the Christmas Story with a modern twist. The action takes place up high in the galaxy where twinkling stars are assigned to 'spy' on earthly events below with their twinkling eyes, record this on their 'Star Pads' then report their findings back to their superiors Lady Astrid and Lord Cosmos supporting their stories with video footage. Narrators make sure that the nativity story is clear which is then acted out in song and dance. The children from Sacred Heart School in Ware and St. Joseph's in Hertford loved the songs from the hint of a 'Tango' in the 'Silly Census' song to the swing feel of the 'Singing Swinging Star' and parents loved the performances. However I realised that I had made the script too 'wordy' for F.S. so I have now written a simpler script for younger children and am marketing the original script as a K.S.1 script. I hope this helps you to put on a stress free Christmas Production.

The Nativity Train on Track For Christmas (A Nativity Play for EYFS and KS1)

The Nativity Train on Track For Christmas (A Nativity Play for EYFS and KS1)

Everything you need: script, cast lists, sheet music, backing tracks and full audios, to put on a refreshingly different Christmas Nativity Play. Nativity Train on Track for Christmas is an original take on the Nativity story for EYFS and KS1 where we join the children on a train journey from one Nativity Station to the other. We visit Nazareth, The Roman Barracks, Feather Stone Farm (where the Donkey is having a little holiday from the busy town), Busy Bethlehem, Super Star Mountain, The Special Stable and Shepherd Mountain. The script is very simple with nine Station Masters setting the different scenes and there are all the usual suspects you would find in a traditional Nativity Story. The songs are catchy, easy to learn and humorous where appropriate including opportunities for solo singing but there are plenty of choruses for the whole cast to join in with and perform actions to as well. The parents and staff at St Joseph's School in Hertford and Sacred Heart in Ware thoroughly enjoyed this show and I hope you will too.

Full Script of a play/musical of Oliver Twist

Full Script of a play/musical of Oliver Twist

This is a script that has been performed successfully by primary school aged children with adults, but can be performed by high school age and above. It's 1 hour without an interval but has been written as two 30 minute Acts. Including the music adds about 10 minutes on each Act. The lines are suitable for children to learn (in our performance Oliver and Dodger were 8 years old) and has a suitable ending for a children's production. The cover picture gives you an idea of costume and staging. I have had media consents to use this picture.

Pass the ball around the ring: A rhythmic game song for the Early Years.

Pass the ball around the ring: A rhythmic game song for the Early Years.

Musicbuds offers an exceptional range of original and well-crafted resources underpinning common musical objectives whilst focused on prominent EYFS themes. Aimed at all Early Years’ practitioners from class teachers, music specialists, teaching assistants, playgroup leaders to EAL and SEND support teachers. This song was written to encourage children to work as a team and concentrate for extended periods of time so that the flow of the ball is never interrupted. The anticipatory part at the end of the tune (when children don’t know how many times they are going to be asked to pass the ball on!) makes it fun. The strong pulse encourages young learners to pass the ball in time to the music. Can be used as a stand-alone game song; to establish the concept of pulse in music; as part of Circle Time; to enhance physical development such as crossing the midline or as Song 2 in Pack 2 of our 30-minute music and movement session. Each song includes: 1) A comprehensive lesson plan -highlighting EYFS and Music objectives covered -directions on classroom management -recommended list of props/visual aids -ideas for Extended learning  -inclusive planning for children with EAL/SEND profiles -different ways to deliver the material from Music/EYFS perspectives -formatted to allow easy cut-and-paste options into planning documents 2) Audio tracks - vocal & backing 3) Sheet music - for piano & guitar 4) Lyrics  -teachers’ lyrics with directions for classroom management  -illustrated children’s lyrics suitable for a Songbook

We’re going walking around - A physical song for early years’ learners (0-5 year olds)

We’re going walking around - A physical song for early years’ learners (0-5 year olds)

At last! Musicbuds is here offering an exceptional range of original and well-crafted resources underpinning common musical objectives whilst focused on prominent EYFS themes. Aimed at all Early Years’ practitioners from class teachers, music specialists, teaching assistants, playgroup leaders to EAL and SEND support teachers. This versatile song uses really simple repetitive phrasing. It was written to help develop different ways of moving for children with Dyspraxia. Skipping, hopping, turning, marching are all movements that can be challenging for children with a Special Needs profile so this song is ideal for developing movement. The humorous backing track ensures that the children always enjoy participating in this song! Can be used as a stand-alone physical song to develop bilateral integration (using two hands together with one hand leading the other e.g. walking) or as Song 8 in our 30-minute music and movement session. Each song includes: 1) A comprehensive lesson plan -highlighting EYFS and Music objectives covered -directions on classroom management -recommended list of props/visual aids -ideas for Extended learning  -inclusive planning for children with EAL/SEND profiles -different ways to deliver the material from Music/EYFS perspectives -formatted to allow easy cut-and-paste options into planning documents 2) Audio tracks - vocal & backing 3) Sheet music - for piano & guitar 4) Lyrics  -teachers’ lyrics with directions for classroom management  -children’s lyrics suitable for a Songbook
