Theory of Fats

Theory of Fats

This is my first year teaching Home Economics so any constructive feedback would be appriciated! This is the theory of Fats I've been teaching my Y10 class as the theory to support their practicals. I've found I'm teaching myself alot as we're going along and hope this will save someone who is in the same boat as me a lot of time!

Recipies

Recipies

Perfect for a cookery club or for use during lessons. These are some step by step recipe sheets with clear images and a useful list of ingredients which can be modified. Students have found them really easy to follow and have enjoyed using them. Happy cooking :-)

Wild food ingredients activity

Wild food ingredients activity

This Lesson Chunk will show students some different ‘jobs’ that are available to those studying Food Technology at school. It features a short film of Caroline Davey from Fat Hen, a wild food business that shows people how to forage for and cook wild growing food. Students should think about how they could use their love of cooking to develop a ‘green’ business.

Italian cookery

Italian cookery

A simple Italian recipe to try out during a special session at school. It combines cookery with Italian language and culture. The recipe has been selected to suit vegetarian pupils also. This recipe works well in KS2 and also in KS3 and KS4, and in my experience has always been particularly popular with hearing-impaired pupils who enjoy the various colours, smells and textures.
