Exit Ticket - Surface Area

Exit Ticket - Surface Area

I give this to the students (printed in A4 or A5 depending on how much room they need) at the end of the lesson to assess an overview of the lesson. I mark it as soon as I can (ha) and it allows me to spot any misconceptions. The last question is a challenge one to push the most able students.

3D Shape Memory

3D Shape Memory

MORE THAN JUST A MEMORY GAME!! Though this was created as a memory game, its cards can be used for so many other fun and educational activities, games and study aides. Print these pages out double-sided. This will make the page containing a colorful design the cover, or top, of the cards. Laminate the printed sheets to make for more durable playing cards (printing with card stock can also help with durability). Cut the cards along the black line. Once cut, mix the cards up, lay them out, and take turns flipping cards over. Kids will be exercising their memory, learning, and having fun while doing so! :)

Spheres, Cones & Cylinders (Working Backwards)

Spheres, Cones & Cylinders (Working Backwards)

The surface area or volume is given and students have to work out the unknown length. Questions develop so that surface area has to be found from a known volume. The last question should keep even the most able students busy for a while. This is always an enjoyable lesson for me. Answers are included.

Spheres, Cones & Cylinders

Check students’ understanding of surface areas and volumes for spheres, cones & cylinders. This worksheet can be used in class, but is ideal as a homework. The questions are also excellent for one-to-one tuition or for identifying specific student weakness as part of the intervention process. Answers are included. Also check out the worksheet ‘Spheres, Cones & Cylinders (Working Backwards)’. It has some excellent questions and will challenge even the most able students!
