Titian quotes: on his painting & portrait art, in his letters from Venice - for students and pupils

Titian quotes, on his painting and portrait art - in his letters from Venice - free art-resource for pupils, students, art teachers . Titian (1488 - 1576), was leading artist of the 16th-century Venetian school in the Italian Renaissance. Many official letters of Titian were written by others - by Aretino and later by Verdizotti (one of his pupils); they did many secretarial services for Titian. Titian was one of the most versatile of the Italian painters, equally adept with portraits, landscape backgrounds, and mythological and religious subjects. His painting methods became famous, particularly in the application and use of colours by later artists. During the course of his long life, Titian’s artistic manner changed drastically, but he retained a lifelong interest in colour. . Some selected artist-quotes of Titian - as short introduction of his extended quotes in the PDF: ’My Lord, I received the other day, with due reverence your Lordship’s letter, together with the canvas and framing. Having read and noted the contents, I considered them so pretty and ingenious as to require no improvement of any kind [by a second painter, to correct the picture]. - quote of Titian, from his letter to Duke Alfonso of Ferrara - from Venice, 1518 ’Your Ceasarean Majesty, I consigned to senõr Don Diego di Mendoza, the two portraits of the most serene Empress [Queen Isabella], in which I have used all the diligence of which I was capable.’ - Titian’s quote, in his letter to Emperor Charles V. -from Venice, Oct, 1544 ’[I] purposely avoided the styles of Raphael and Michaelangelo because I was ambitious of higher distinction than that of a clever imitator.’ - in Titian’s letter to Francesco Vargas, the Spanish envoy, c. 1545 . links for selected art-resources on Titian: extended biography notes of Titian, on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titian artist-quotes of and about Titian, on Wikiquote: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Titian images of Titian’s painting art, on Wikimedia: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Titian . editor: Fons Heijnsbroek / Matrozenhof (FotoDutch on Wikiquote):

Rembrandt quotes: Dutch famous painter of 17th century + quotes about him - for students & pupils

Rembrandt, quotes of the Dutch painter + quotes about him, by contemporaries - art-resource for students, pupils and art teachers . We don’t have many artist-quotes of Rembrandt himself: c 12 quotes - which you find here in the PDF (transl. Anne Porcelijn). Happily we do have a lot of quotes about Rembrandt as painter and teacher in art by his contemporaries - his former pupils, colleague-painters, citizens of Amsterdam, family, etc. You will find them here in his PDF too! Unlike most Dutch masters of the 17th century, Rembrandt’s works depict a wide range of style and subject matter. From portraits and self-portraits to landscapes, genre scenes, allegorical and historical scenes, biblical and mythological themes - in his paintings, drawings and etchings. The characteristic light and dark of Rembrandt became most important in his late art. . Some selected artist-quotes of Rembrandt - as short introduction of his extended quotes in the PDF: ’My [dear] Sir: Let me first offer my kind regards… …[the picture] will show to [the] best advantage in His Excellency’s gallery, since there it will be [showed] in bright light.’ - quote of Rembrandt, in his letter to Constantijn Huygens, Febr. 1636 ’in these two paintings [his ‘Entombment of Christ’ and the arising Christ] the greatest and most natural movement has been expressed [and rendered], which is also the main reason why they have taken so long to execute.’. - Rembrandt’s quote, in his letter to Constantijn Huygens, Febr. 1636 ’Try to put well in practice what you already know; and in so doing, you will in good time, discover the hidden things which you now inquire about. Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know’ - quote of Rembrandt, recorded by his former pupil Van Hoogstraten in 1671 . links for selected art-resources on Rembrandt: biographical notes on the life of Rembrandt, Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembrandt artist-quotes of ànd about Rembrandt, on Wikiquote: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Rembrandt images of the painting art of Rembrandt, website Rijksmuseum: https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/nl/rijksstudio/kunstenaars/rembrandt-van-rijn . editor: Fons Heijnsbroek / Matrozenhof (FotoDutch on Wikiquote):

Word Search - Now You See Us - Colourama

Word search is a firm favourite with children and adults alike, as they are fun but at the same time educational. They offer spelling practice as new words are acquired. They teach context and families of vocabulary and strengthen word recognition. This word search is all about colour, as we are literally surrounded by a plethora of vibrant colours, and often only explore a handful of those colours in our language and writing. Well, this puzzle is full of unusual colours, which will simply spur you to investigate those shades, and of course encourage wider use of this vocabulary.

Exploring the Creative Process: Lesson Plan & Film

The creative process is a subject of study across disciplines including the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Creativity is a practical skill for individuals, which can lead to innovation, effective learning, and self-discovery. An intimate portrait of ex-Yugoslavian émigré artist Slobodan Dan Paich, Silent Crescendo follows his daily ritual of creating simple drawings with tea and ink. In response to the modern pace of the art scene, Slobodan has embraced these fluid works of art to express his searching approach.

Painting and Decorating Wordsearch Sheet Starter Activity Keywords Cover Careers

Painting and Decorating Wordsearch Sheet Starter Activity Keywords Cover Careers

Wordsearch Puzzle sheet of keywords on the theme of ‘Painting and Decorating’. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Year 2 Picasso Portrait Art lesson pack

Year 2 Picasso Portrait Art lesson pack

This pack includes a 4-part lesson plan, which focuses on the famous artist Picasso and cubism style artwork. Including in the planning is the National Curriculum objectives covered, lesson objectives, teaching and assessment points. Each child produces their very own Picasso style self-portrait over a period of lessons. It allows the children to learn about lines, patterns, as well as key primary colours. The children can then be reflective of their artwork and make comparisons to Picasso’s work, on a worksheet (provided in the pack). I taught this my Year 2 Class but it can make a great art focus for any Year’s from 1-4. The finished artwork leads to a great school display! I hope you enjoy teaching the topic as much as I did!
