This bundle includes four different Reading Comprehension Worksheets suitable for higher intermediate advanced ESL learners. The texts explore different concepts through time / history... After carefully reading each story / text, students are required to complete some comprehension exercises including: questions, True or False, gap filling exercises, crosswords, word search exercises, matching exercises and engage in in-depth classroom discussions on topics relevant to each text. The vocabulary used in the texts is rather advanced and can also be used for IGSCE, TOEFL or IELTS vocabulary building purposes.

Safeguarding

This was originally delivered over 2, 3 hour lessons to Access to HE students. There are activities including; types of abuse, accessible complaints procedures, serious case reviews and an activity where students have to design a new Health and Social Care Service compliant with safeguarding policy. Please note that this lesson is aimed at adult learners who have some prior knowledge of safeguarding. Furthermore, learners are expected to work as independent learners in the same way that they will at university. You will require computers for your students in order for them to do some independent research.

The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Worksheet designed to inform and educate regarding the effects of alcohol on the human body and society. Split the class into small groups and assign a role for each group on the Paradise Island Community. Allow 10 minutes for each group to decide their opinion and formulate an argument. Then provide time for each group to present their case. Either have a vote of the whole class concerning the decision of the Paradise Island Community on the sale of alcoholic drinks or assign a group of pupils to play the role of the Paradise Island Community Council and give a considered deliberation.

Students work together to design and develop an outfit for a variety of different reasons e.g. interview wear, casual wear etc. Students must carry out research on which to base their ideas upon and they must show their design ideas. Once they have developed their outfit, they choose the digital method for showing their creations. Can easily be adapted to incorporate different cultures and beliefs etc
