This collection includes a Mid-Term Planning resource that introduces the life and work of Mexican Artist; Frida Kahlo through the use of Portraiture. Pupils will be taught about her contribution to Mexican Art, while they improve their own mastery of portraits and art and design techniques, through drawing, painting, collage, and digital imagining. Pupils will be encouraged to experiment with new techniques to enhance their creativity, while being challenged to think critically about their own work and the work of others. There is also a Power Point presentation that illustrates her life and work and a Word document that can be laminated for use in the classroom. All illustrations are from creative commons. This resource is suitable for Upper KS 2 & KS 3 children studying the Art and Design curriculum.
