Two really fun options for your students to create a Back To School Backpack Option #1 - Use all of the templates provided and students will craft their own backpacks. Option #2 - Begin with a paper bag and use the templates provided to create a paper bag backpack. Both great options ... you decide what is best for your students. There are many options for writing activities included: - on the straps - on the front cover - a secret pocket which students complete inserts and drop into the pocket - 4 interactive templates created so you can have students tell you more about themselves, what makes them happy, what they are good at, a little about their family, a goal for the year, etc. - have used graphics for boys and for girls What you need: Paper (light cardstock would be extra special), coloring pencils, glue, paper bags (if that is the option you choose) I have included step by step directions and visuals to assist you in assembling these backpacks. Also, view the YouTube video on how to assemble these backpacks at: https://youtu.be/wRzF5eGyFME Look at the video and decide which backpack is better suited for your students - the paper bag backpack for the little ones, the regular backpack for students in the older grades. You must save this file on your computer. Then open and print on 8 1/2 x 14 (legal size) paper. Otherwise, your product will not be set up properly. Hope you love it! Fire and Flames

Fire and Flames

A collection of photos of flames and fire that can be used with science lessons on the ingredients for a fire, for safety, and for energy topics. Includes photos of my log fire at home, and photos of a camp fire at my family home in Latvia, where people like to jump over the fire on Jani's Festival or Liga Festival which takes place at the solstice. It is an age old custom and people believe that jumping over the fire will stop evil spirits casting spells on you, purification for the year ahead.
