Student Behaviour Reflection Sheet for PE - The PE Shed - Free

Student Behaviour Reflection Sheet for PE - The PE Shed - Free

The Student behaviour reflection sheet has been created by The PE Shed to provide PE teachers with a strategy for managing behaviour with minimal affect on the lesson. Students use this to reflect on an incident that has happened in a lesson. This strategy has multiple benefits: It reduces the affect on the lesson flow. It reduces the time teachers spend resolving incidents. It allows students to express their feelings. It allows students to have their view heard. It provides evidence for further reporting. This strategy requires students who have reading and writing skills and it generally works best with older students. Perfect for Primary / Elementary / Physical Education Teachers and Sports Coaches. Feeling Charts

Feeling Charts

These feeling charts have been created to be an interactive, frequently-used, classroom resource. The more students utilize the charts, the more the classroom as a whole and the student as an individual, will benefit. Students better understand their own emotions when they learn to identify what they are feeling; and proceed to learn how to cope with those emotions. This, in return, allows for a positive classroom environment with less confusion and more understanding between students and teachers. -There are 24 feelings included: aggressive, angry, annoyed, bored, calm, cold, confident, confused, disappointed, embarrassed, excited, friendly, frustrated, funny, grumpy, happy, hot, hungry, hurt, lazy, motivated, nervous, overwhelmed, proud, quiet, sad, scared, shy, sick, silly, surprised, tired -One large feelings chart. Three miniature feelings charts. -All emoji faces are labeled with their emotion.

I am. I can. I will. Mindfulness and confidence building activity

I am. I can. I will. Mindfulness and confidence building activity

**Nowadays we are becoming more just how much more aware we need to be. The importance **of developing an inner compass that points to an attitude of self belief, determination, resilience and being kids to others, will carry us well through life. This is something that anyone who has every tried to achieve something in their lives knows too well, and I’m sure understand the value of learning this at a young age. This resource is inspired by the morals from my book so can be incorporated into literacy/guided reading lesson, and aims to create class discussion through the introduction of news words or reflecting on words already learned and how they can personally apply them to their own life, which leads to children creating positive self declarations which they can take home with them and keep safe. This resource aims to show children potential and the endless possibilities before them, and the important of a positive mental attitude. Includes worksheets to be used as a poster. Flash cards to introduce new words and phrases and to help them to fill out the worksheet. Extract from on the book in which the main character demonstrates a positive ‘I can’ attitude, despite possible negative opinions. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Be nice - assembly

Be nice - assembly

“Be nice” assembly This assembly has been put together by a Head of Year/Pastoral Leader and is designed to be delivered to a whole year group/house or used within tutor time/dinnertime club, or after school club etc. Aims To remind students to “Work hard. Be nice”. (My favourite saying) A previous assembly (“Growth mindset”-which I will also post on TES shortly) focused on the “Work hard” part so you improve your intelligence and talents. This assembly focuses on the “Be nice” part so that we may enjoy stronger friendships and other healthy relationships. This assembly is based on 3 stories. There are morals to each story that can be explored to encourage students to: be nice to others, treat others how you want to be treat, take responsibility for your attitude to improve your experience of the world, and don’t let others decide how you will act or feel. (This is a concept used in my Life coaching called TFAR – Thoughts, Feelings, Actions, Results, and is explained to an appropriate depth in the notes within the PowerPoint on slide 6.) The assembly has 9 slides and no video clips, so no need to worry about your school internet letting you down! It will last 10-15minutes, depending on how much audience participation you encourage. The three stories to tell are wrote as a script in the notes at the bottom of the relevant slide. However, since the notes are not visible once you start the PowerPoint, for your convenience, I have also copied the stories onto slides 10, 11, 12 so you may print them off prior to the assembly to learn by heart, or, to read from during the assembly if you wish. This assembly forms a series of assemblies (10-15 in total- which I will be adding in the very near future) designed to build a positive year group identity, and to boost the resilience of the individual students. Kindest Regards Matthew Obee

Slideas: five simple questions

Slideas: five simple questions

Slideas is a generic term for a set of slides which are most suitable for secondary or tertiary learners, and are useful as icebreakers, attention grabbers or mood changes - or just a bit of fun. The resources are free, and use basic powerpoint. This sequence of slides asks 5 questions, which on the face of it, are easy - and produce quick but usually incorrect answers. This is not only funny, but has a serious side: why is our initial, quick, response so often wrong? This relates to Daniel Kahneman’s book ‘Thinking Fast and Slow’ - where the intuitive, quick answer (system 1) is often incorrect…

Slideas is a generic term for a set of slides which are most suitable for secondary or tertiary learners, and are useful as icebreakers, attention grabbers or mood changes - or just a bit of fun. The resources are free, and use basic powerpoint. You’d never guess contains a dismissive quote about a famous and successful person, followed by their photo. It can simply be a bit of fun, but it has its more serious side, in showing how people can succeed despite the views of others…
