An augmented reality version of this page is available in the published book on Amazon. Adapt and survive treasure hunt starter

Adapt and survive treasure hunt starter

Suitable for KS2/KS3 and KS4 Biology/Science Activity; -Print out the words and cut them out separately. -Hide them around the classroom/outside space -Students have to come in and try and find one of each word (4 in total) - they must leave any duplicates where they are for other students to find There are not enough of each word for every student so only some students will 'survive' Depending on how the students find the words you could discuss competition/survival of the fittest/Adaptation/could they survive with the resources they have? It is great fun and really gets the energy up for the start of the lesson plus the students will learn about 4 things living organisms require to survive

Flowers Literature & Composition

Flowers Literature & Composition

Here are six pieces of writing about Flowers, and six different writing assignments to go with them! Themes include: wildflowers, a perfect garden, flower symbolism, a flower poem with a moral, a close look at ‘the Daisy’ and why flowers can be appreciated by anyone. Writing assignments vary – from writing a well-structured paragraph to comparing two different flowers, from including talking flowers in a story to making a detailed list. An image of flowers (as seen on the cover) is included to be used as decoration on the student’s notebook. Literature & Composition collections are suitable for students who are ready to read and study different types of literature in small quantities. For example, instead of an entire novel or scholarly work, a small sample of each (which can stand on its own) will be presented. This way, the intermediate student has an opportunity to stretch their reading abilities without being discouraged. Each book contains six different writing samples which share a common theme. The writing assignments vary in length and are intended to inspire the student to try writing in different forms and styles.
