KS3 Science/STEM Club

KS3 Science/STEM Club

With a busy schedule sometimes it's hard to enjoy running a STEM Club if you have to think of tasks every week, especially towards the end of the year. Over the summer I created a scheme of work for your STEM Club. It was divided into themes, e.g. Superheroes and Fairy Tales. One and a half terms in, it seems to be working very well, for our KS3 and KS2 Science Clubs. Not all the resources are mine, but I've attached help sheets for some session. Most of the information is in the spread sheet outlining each session I hope you enjoy using this and it makes your life that little bit easier. Demon Dentist - How To Create The Board Game

Demon Dentist - How To Create The Board Game

This resource has been created to challenge pupils to design and create their own Demon Dentist board game. Resources and instructions are included but the pupils need to create their 'own rules' to play the game. This is excellent at encouraging instruction writing and will deepen pupils understanding of the characters in David Walliams award winning book. It can used as a homework resource and is especially useful for supporting SEN pupils. All illustrations in this game are by 'Openclipart' creative commons. [NEW VERSION - Amended Arrows]

Form quiz has 30 questions, 10 each on the following topics: Transport, Apples and Karate. I know, a bit random! The punctuality quiz is an attempt to get students to understand that an excuse, no matter how good or bad, is still an excuse. There are 10 excuses that are either True or False. Quiz 1 - 11 all consist of 10 questions and generally focus on a particular topic. These topics are as diverse as Animals, Science, Superheroes, Literature and Shoes! All quiz questions are a mixture of multiple choice, T or F and regular questions. They are designed to be fun and informative and should sometimes spark debate. Feedback, good or bad, appreciated. The BFG - Roald Dahl Study Guide

The BFG - Roald Dahl Study Guide

This resource has been created for developing readers. It can be used as an individual study or whole class resource [shared half-term novel]. It combines the wonderful classic story and discusses the effects of BULLYING. During the work the 'Chief Inspector' invites the reader to become a STORY SLEUTH by completing the DETECTIVE TRAINING HANDBOOK. The reader needs to follow Sophie and the BFG on their big adventure. More importantly, the reader has to discover ways of challenging BULLIES in the REAL world. To keep the reader motivated there are many diverse tasks to complete; a word search, note making, sketching, formulating and answering text questions. Empathising with the characters predicament and blossoming friendship, while discovering how to manipulate words like the brilliant Roald Dahl by exploring Spoonerisms, idioms, root and nonsense words. Occassionally the reader is challenged to complete an Art or Craft activity [these make excellent displays]. This original resource is illustrated by images from 'Openclipart'.

Ninja Themed Page Templates for Lessons, Worksheets & Interactive Whiteboard Backgrounds

Ninja Themed Page Templates for Lessons, Worksheets & Interactive Whiteboard Backgrounds

At the start of every topic I create a large set of blank page backgrounds that I print to Smart Notebook and use as templates for all my lessons during the topic. I have included a notebook version. In this pack there are 14 different page designs. I use these templates for writing and grammar lessons. Not only do they look great but they save a great deal of time setting up eye catching teaching resources. The children absolutely love the colourful interactive board displays and will hold me to account if I have a boring board at any point during the day! I often print a page or two out and use them to set tasks on. I buy the clip art from another teaching resource site and spend hours organising them into boxes for learning objectives, dates and tasks/teacher modelling. I hope you find them useful. Please leave feedback.

Super Hero Visual Story Prompts - Creative Writing Prompts Using All 5 Senses.

Super Hero Visual Story Prompts - Creative Writing Prompts Using All 5 Senses.

Are your students studying about Superheroes? These creative writing prompts ask the students to look at each picture and use their 5 senses to describe the image. What can they see, touch, smell, taste, hear and feel in each picture? They then use these notes to write a fuller, more detailed description of the picture. This is a great way to prepare for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests while still having a lot of fun! You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching set of story prompts. The students could also take five of the laminated photos and create them into a story . The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing. superheroes
